WhatsApp

What WhatsApp is - and isn't - used for in BRIX: Wishlist Plus.

Overview

WhatsApp appears in the app as a sharing option your customers can use to share their own wishlist. There is currently no automated WhatsApp notification or messaging feature (for example, no automatic "back in stock" or "price drop" alerts are sent over WhatsApp).

Benefits

  • Gives customers a familiar, one-tap way to share their wishlist with friends and family

Where to Find It

Wishlist page (popup, drawer, or dedicated page) → Share → WhatsApp

How to Use

To let customers share via WhatsApp:

  1. Go to SettingsPages tab → Wishlist pageCustomize.
  2. Confirm Share wishlist is on, and WhatsApp is checked under Share channels.
  3. Save. Customers will now see a WhatsApp option when sharing their wishlist.

Best Practices

  • Keep WhatsApp enabled as a share channel if your customer base commonly uses it to send links to friends and family.

Notes

  • There is no automated WhatsApp notification feature. The app does not send customers any automatic WhatsApp messages about wishlist activity, stock changes, or price drops.
  • The customer-facing WhatsApp share button simply opens WhatsApp with the customer's own wishlist link pre-filled - it's the customer choosing to share, not the app messaging anyone automatically.

Troubleshooting

I was expecting WhatsApp alerts for back-in-stock or price-drop notifications. This isn't available yet - see Plans & Pricing for what's currently included.

The WhatsApp share option isn't showing for customers. Confirm it's checked under Share channels in Wishlist Page settings.
