Share Wishlist

Lets customers share their wishlist with friends and family so others can view — and shop — what they've saved.

Overview

Customers can share a link to their wishlist over email, social media, WhatsApp, or by copying a link directly. Anyone who opens the link can view the shared wishlist's items, but cannot edit, remove, or add to it — sharing is read-only for the recipient.

Benefits

  • Turns personal wishlists into gift guides friends and family can shop from
  • Extends your store's reach beyond the original customer
  • No account required for the recipient to view a shared wishlist

Where to Find It

These settings live on the Wishlist Page settings screen, alongside layout and pricing options.

Best Practices

  • Keep Copy link enabled even if you disable social channels — it's the most universal sharing option and works in any context (text message, direct message, etc.).
  • If your customer base is highly active on a specific social platform, make sure that channel is enabled.

Notes

  • Recipients of a shared link see the wishlist's name and items (image, title, price, and stock status) but see no Add to cart, remove, or edit controls — they are viewing, not managing, the list.
  • If the shared wishlist is later deleted, or the link is otherwise invalid, the recipient sees a "This wishlist is no longer available" message.
  • Share links remain valid indefinitely once created — there is currently no option for a customer to "unshare" or revoke a link after generating it, other than deleting the wishlist itself.
  • If you change your Wishlist Page display style (popup/drawer vs. dedicated page) after a link has already been shared, existing shared links automatically continue to work correctly with the new display style.

Troubleshooting

A customer says their share link isn't working. Confirm the wishlist that was shared still exists and hasn't been deleted.

The WhatsApp share option isn't appearing. Check that WhatsApp is enabled under Share channels in Wishlist Page settings. This is a customer-facing sharing button only — it is not related to app support or notifications; see WhatsApp for the distinction.

A customer wants to stop sharing a wishlist. Currently the only way to fully revoke a shared link is to delete the wishlist. Consider this when advising customers who want to share privately.
