Installation
This page explains how to install BRIX: Wishlist Plus and turn it on for your storefront.
Overview
Installing the app adds it to your Shopify admin. But the wishlist buttons and widgets will not appear on your live store until you also turn on the app's theme app embed inside your theme editor. These are two separate steps — both are required.

To turn the embed on:
Online Store ↓ Themes ↓ Customize (on your live/published theme) ↓ App embeds (bottom-left toggle icon) ↓ Wishlist App
How to Use
- Install BRIX: Wishlist Plus from the Shopify App Store, or open it from Apps in your Shopify admin if it's already installed.
- On first open, you'll land on the app Dashboard. If the wishlist isn't active on your store yet, you'll see a banner: "Wishlist isn't visible on your store yet."
- Click Enable on that banner, or the "App embed activated" step in the setup guide. This takes you directly into your theme editor's App embeds panel with the Wishlist App embed highlighted.
- Turn on the Wishlist App toggle in the App embeds panel.
- Click Save in the theme editor.
- Return to the app Dashboard — the setup guide step should now show as On.
Tip You must save your theme in the theme editor for the change to go live. Toggling the embed on without saving does not activate it.

Note The theme app embed itself has no configurable options in the theme editor. All wishlist styling and behavior is controlled from inside the app at Settings, not from the theme customizer.
Best Practices
- Enable the embed on your live/published theme, not just a draft theme, so customers actually see the wishlist.
- If you use multiple themes (for seasonal campaigns, A/B tests, etc.), remember to enable the embed on each theme you publish.
- Check the Dashboard after any theme change (new theme, theme restore, theme duplication) — switching themes can reset app embed settings.
Notes
- Requires an Online Store 2.0 theme. Legacy (vintage) themes that don't support app embeds cannot display the wishlist.
- The app detects your embed status automatically and reflects it on the Dashboard — there is no need to manually check the theme editor once installed.
- No theme code edits are required for standard themes. The wishlist button on product grids and product pages is inserted automatically using common theme markup patterns.
Troubleshooting
The wishlist buttons don't show up on my store. Check that the theme app embed is turned on for your published theme (not a draft) and that you clicked Save in the theme editor. See the Troubleshooting guide for more scenarios.
I enabled the embed but the Dashboard still shows it as off. Refresh the Dashboard page. If it still shows off after a minute, confirm you saved the correct (live) theme.
A button appears on some pages but not others. This can happen on custom or heavily modified themes where the app cannot automatically find a place to insert the button. See Customization Overview and Troubleshooting.
