Storefront Widget Setup

Turn on the floating button and place the full locator inside your theme.

Overview

BRIX: Store Locator & Maps ships as a Shopify theme app extension with two pieces: an app embed that adds a floating Find a Store button to every page, and an app block, named Store Locator, that you can add to any page to show the full map-and-search experience inline. The app also gives you a ready-made hosted locator page automatically, with no theme changes required.

Benefits

  • Get a working, linkable locator page immediately after install
  • Add the floating button store-wide with one toggle
  • Optionally embed the full locator directly inside your own theme page

Where to Find It

Online Store → Themes → Customize (on your live/published theme) → App embeds → BRIX: Store Locator & Maps (floating button)

Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add block → Store Locator (full locator)

Or use the shortcuts on the app's Dashboard - "Activate app embed" and "Add store locator block" jump straight into the right place in your theme editor.

How to Use

  1. Open your theme editor and go to App embeds.
  2. Turn on BRIX: Store Locator & Maps to show the floating button on every page, then click Save.
  3. To embed the full locator inside a specific page, open that page/section, click Add block, and choose Store Locator, then click Save.
  4. Configure the button's look under Find a Store Button, and the locator's look and behavior under Appearance.
  5. Share or link to your hosted locator page (shown on the Dashboard) if you don't want to add the block to a theme page at all.

Available Settings

PieceTypeDescription
BRIX: Store Locator & MapsApp embedStore-wide on/off switch for the floating Find a Store button; no theme-editor settings of its own - configured entirely from Find a Store Button
Store LocatorApp blockRenders the full map, search bar, filters, and results list on whichever page/section you add it to; no theme-editor settings of its own - configured entirely from Appearance
Hosted locator pageAutomaticA ready-to-use locator page, live as soon as you install; its URL is shown on the Dashboard

Best Practices

  • Turn on the app embed on your live/published theme, not just a draft.
  • If you use multiple themes, repeat these steps on each one you publish.
  • Decide whether you want the hosted page, an in-theme block, or both - most merchants only need one.

Notes

  • Both the app embed and the app block currently have no theme-editor settings of their own - all configuration happens inside the app (Find a Store Button and Appearance).
  • The Store Locator block currently renders on any page you add it to; there's no separate "which pages" targeting control today.

Troubleshooting

The floating button doesn't show up. Confirm the app embed is turned on and saved on your live theme.

The block I added shows a blank space. Confirm you have at least one Active location - see Managing Locations.
