Quick Start

Add your first location and get your store locator live.

Overview

This guide follows the same checklist shown on the app's own Dashboard when you first install, with a bit more detail at each step.

Benefits

  • Get your locator live with real data in a few minutes
  • Avoid the most common setup miss (adding a location but never turning on the app embed)
  • Understand what's optional (the in-theme block) versus what's automatic (the hosted page)

Where to Find It

Apps → BRIX: Store Locator & Maps (Dashboard)

How to Use

  1. From the Dashboard's setup guide, click Activate app embed to turn on the floating button in your theme editor, then Save.
  2. Click Add location to create your first location. Fill in at minimum a Name, Address, and City - see Adding & Editing a Location.
  3. (Optional) Click Open theme editor to add the Store Locator block to a page in your theme.
  4. Check the Dashboard's location stats to confirm your location shows as activated (Active status).
  5. Visit your Store Locator URL (shown on the Dashboard, with a Copy button) to see your live locator page.

Tip If you have more than a handful of locations, skip the manual form and use Bulk Import via CSV instead.

Available Settings

This page has no settings of its own - it's a guided checklist. See the linked feature pages for exact settings.

Best Practices

  • Fill in working hours and contact info on your first location - customers rely on these in the results list and detail view.
  • Add tags consistently from the start, so tag-based search stays useful as you add more locations.
  • Check your storefront on both desktop and mobile after your first setup.

Notes

  • Adding a location and enabling the app embed/block are two separate actions - saving a location does not automatically turn on the floating button.

Troubleshooting

I added a location but it's not showing on the storefront. Confirm the location's Status is Active, not Inactive - see Managing Locations.

The setup checklist on the Dashboard still shows steps as incomplete. The checklist revalidates automatically when you return to the tab - refresh the page after completing a step if it hasn't updated yet.
